Back to my Fuji X-T1 this weekend. Experimenting with an 11mm Extension tube I bought last year but not spent much time using it. I tried it with the 18mm and 35mm, but found the 18-55mm zoom was the best.
In an attempt to get fit this year, I have continued to walk around Guildford in my lunch hour. I try not to have any specific route, and this can lead me into the countryside, residential areas and industrial parks. On my daily wanders I take photos of the scenery.
I bought the new Insta360 ONE X camera for a interesting perspective on my daily ride to work. I mounted the camera to my handlebar and switched it on. The camera captured a full 5.7k 360 degree video which it then edited using a phone app. All very easy to use and upload but I would say that the battery life it very poor. The camera died after about 15-20 minutes use.
Last weekend, I was involved in a charity motorcycle ride from Hertfordshire to Essex. We ended up at North Weald Airfield where photographed some great bikes in the parking area. The images were all captured using a tiny Sony RX100 mk3. It's my compact solution while out on bike tours and it's so versatile. I'm loving the results.
Trying out my new Fujifilm MEX extension tube this month. I had third party versions of this, however they could never connect properly and would cause problems during shot taking. So I decided to cut my losses and purchase the proper one. It's so much better. The response time is amazing and I'm very happy with the results. I'm finding the Fuji 18-55mm and the 56mm are the best lenses with this 16mm extension tube - close enough and good focusing.
Here are a few shots so far.
I haven't had much time over the last few months to get to London for a street walk. I felt a little out of practice and found it difficult to get into the rhythm of it all. I started at Tottenham Court Road Underground station and walked up Oxford Street to Bond Street. I crossed over and double backed to Regents Street and walked around Carnaby Street before heading over to Chinatown and Piccadilly. After coffee in the Picturehouse Central I walked back to Oxford Street and up Regents Street to Regents Park Underground Station.
Oxford Street and the central shopping district of London is a ideal place to hang out and find interesting viewpoints and people to photograph.
